You can sell your shares on the open market tomorrow if you choose. Of course you will incur commission charges. If you have a hot stock that you have to buy soon and these are your only funds then that is probably a good idea. In a few days you will receive a packet from the company outlining the offer and asking you to tender your shares. This will take more time but you save the commission.

From the press release it sounds as if the company sees this as a fair price. If it is worth more then another company would probably offer more but from the sound of the release it doesn't sound as if this will happen.
