I am pretty sure that I positioned the term properly as code speak used by both sides to bolster their respective agendas.

I don't see the left using that term as code. Usually, with code, one side uses the term more or less naturally and the other as code. For any given piece of code, you don't find code on both sides. It wouldn't work that way. The reason code works is because bystanders doesn't recognize it as code and think the code users are using the term naturally. That way they give the code users undeserved support.

If the left were to use that expression as code, it would probably mean "get the troops outta there so they will be safe in the arms of their families."
