Support For Eason Jordan’s Allegations Against The US Military Continue

PoliPundit (Hat tip to PRESTOPUNDIT)

Jason Kondik pointed me to a post at Pandagon that demostrates why I believe the tape of Eason Jordan at Davos should still be released. The post is an argument in support of Jordan’s claim that the U.S. military is targeting journalists.

In support of that argument the statement of Dick Myers about targeting Iraqi television in the early days of the war is presented. Of course, to all but those who believed the story of the happy kite flying Iraqis presented by Michael Moore, it was obvious that Iraqi television was not a free agent, but an arm and tool of the regime. Even though most outside the Michael Moore/Keith Olbermann conspiracy theorist circles will not buy this stuff, those in the foreign media pick these stories up and they get a life of their own. As I have written before, and as others have noted, the potential consequences of these stories are all too real for American soldiers and marines.

If the Jordan tape were released, the exact comments in question would be open for debate
. The resignation of Jordan effectively ended the debate over the allegations he made in the Davos statements in the mainstream media.

The cry on the left is that Jordan was censored. This is, of course, absurd since Jordan and CNN were the ones against release of the tape. Release the tape and then let’s have an open and honest debate on the subject and let the chips fall where they may. The conspiracy filled stories of censorship only feed accusations against the American military and those accusations have very real consequences.

Calls for release of the Davos tape including this post about the Eason Jordan meme can be found at War, Truth and Videotape.
