Once I was singing a German lieder in a recital and I was very enthusiastic about my German gutteral sounds. After a particular energetic ACH!, in my peripheral vision, I saw a guy in the front row surreptitiously trying to wipe his face.
I didn't know whether to feel embarrassed or proud.
