As far as the Muslims timeline, I mentioned the 8th century not as a beginning of the Muslim empire, but as the period when Muslim culture was considered dominant and enlightened...a true contribution to humanity. By the 10-11th centuries, the crusades wracked the Muslim lands. By 14th & 15th centuries, the Muslim empire was already splintered was shrinking. And btw, I hope you are not confusing the Turks with Arab Muslims. But again, all of that was a long time ago. What have they done for humanity lately?

Excuse me. What runs your car? How do you heat your home? See that plastic on your monitor in front of you......how do you think the plastic got there?

Maybe modern contributions of Muslims aren't as exciting to you as 9th century eye surgery but I suspect you would be most unhappy if they were not available.
