Oil? You think so? And on what do you base this? That NKorea doesn't have oil? That Iran does? That Sudan doesn't? That Syria does? You little sceptic. (BTW, do you play any computer strategy games? You can play out this whole thing in "Civilization".)
To me, and a lot of the folks hanging at SS at the time ( I think most of them are now too drunk and discouraged to leave the bar), it was obvious that there was nothing there, and no links. There were inspectors all over the place until Shrub chased them out. SH was cooperating, slowly and reluctantly, but doing it, to try to avoid war. Coop started with letting the inspectors back in.Threat of force was good, up to that point. If you were careful, and interested, and willing to do your homework, you would have seen that war wasn't the last option, it was the only option, and nothing would change that; not the truth, not millions in the streets, nothing. Minds were made up.
Being vindicated is a pyrrhic victory at best.
