Food For Thought As the social security system now stands it is a complex system that pays retirees a monthly income and then takes back from them payment for medical insurance. This is all smoke and mirrors. The retiree has paid into the system throughout the work career and then in retirement must give back again for medical insurance to the government. A major change needs to be made and that change is to get the government out of the medical insurance business and out of the processing of medical claims. Social Security system is not broke----it has simply become bloated with a beauracracy to manage the system and branched into areas that it should never be in----that is medical insurance and medical care. mj
