Dabum,

My LT pick is EP. My fundamental reasons:

- 1 1/2 years ago, there was a clean sweep of the old CEO & BOD.

- From the beginning, the new CEO had a clear plan on how to right the ship. He has executed this plan exactly as he orignially set forth. Having carefully listened to CCs, I trust the man.

- A new respected O &G director was brought in. She has a disciplined approach to using the company's scarce capital. That new approach has just recently paid off in both a significant GOM deepwater NG discovery and in the purchases of new NG onshore properties.

- the company is finally leaving behind the Enron era legacy of the earlier management. It never panicked and sold its domestic and foreign power plants and contracts at fire sale prices and now is set to sell these assets as the market is recovering. In the process it will (this year) eliminate a significant amount of overhead which will translate directly to the bottom line.

- it is the world's biggest NG pipeline company with >50,000 miles of line. Again, the CEO didn't panic with the size of the company's debt (often in the past pointed out by JimP) but continued its major investments in new lines. NG pipelines in today's world can't help but become increasingly valuable - even with the vagaries of NG prices.

- IMHO the company has already passed the tipping point with regard to that debt and it is all downhill from here.

Maybe JimP has a contrary opinion?

Bruce
