Hi Peter and all..Tom encapsulated succinctly my issue with DDonSI's posts here this week..a sentiment I perhaps did not clearly articulate to DD...
Additionally, this was a difficult week for everyone..the effects of ELN/BIIB's fate sent shock waves and consequences throughout the globe..people here that I've come to care about as investing partners and friends were deeply impacted in various ways..in my opinion, it was not the right time for someone with whom I don't have a history to come and compare/contrast the 2 threads and with his personal bias making a negative conclusion about SI in relation to his thread..
One of the beautiful aspects of these threads I've experienced is people support and respect eachother during both difficult and joyous times...This week exemplified what in my opinion is the highest standard of which to judge a thread and its participants..it was a safe place(made by thread monitors across the threads) for people to express their frustration, sorrow, and compassion..there was no gloating that the YMB board longs had to suffer through, sticking to the science and facts***..
To say I'm in awe of the civility is an understatement..On a personal note for DD: I came here, a widow, with minimal to no investing experience..yet the folk displayed utmost tact and patience for me and have sheparded me along.They have helped me make money and avoid losing money(always gently responding to my novice questions, and at times insufferable editorials, ignoring my grammar, spelling errors) ...negative comments in your post elicited a strong protective reaction from me for these people..I suppose an occupational hazard of having an activist woman participant..
***A reason I was not inclined at this time to explore an unfamiliar thread no matter its merits..I will explore your thread at a another juncture...
