Greenspan's critics have long suspected him of being a hard-core Republican ideologue. But during the '90s, when he seemed to work hand-in-glove with the Clinton administration, he morphed into an elder statesman, seemingly above politics and partisanship and above reproach. Now, however, the Maestro has become little more than a hand puppet of the Bush administration.
This statement is typical Left Wing Self-contradiction. First, he was a "hard-core Republican ideologue". Then, he is "hand-in-glove" with Clinton, an "elder statesman", "above politics". Now, he is a Bush Puppet. Do we really thing Greenspan has been the most successful Fed chairman because he is merely "Blowin' in the Wind"?
The assertion is absurd. Anyone who knows ANYTHING about economics understands the biggest problem is the number of variables involved. The suggestion is that the myriad variables have held constant over the last 20 years while Greenspan's basic philosophy has changed is nonsense. All the while, Greenspan has remained extremely effective in running the Fed.
The reality is that circumstances today are different from circumstances 10/15 years ago. Today's economy requires deficit spending, and Greenspan realizes it.
Why you people continue to argue with the facts is difficult to understand. Bush's domestic policy, combined with Greenspan's prowess, has kept our economy out of the dumper. Meanwhile, Bush's foreign policy is bringing about revolutionary change in the Mideast. All the while, the libs are moaning and groaning. |
