Sure, I'll agree to that. A $1K tax bill is a larger burden to bear for someone who makes $50K per year vs someone who makes $200K. I can understand that.

However, I see alot of people dismissing a consumption tax out of hand without even waiting to hear what the proposal is and without waiting to see the studies that will be done to estimate the impact.

Shoot. If I ran a business that way, then I'd be out of business in a no time flat. Instead, I listen to what people have to say about what my options are and then I tell them to run the numbers on the options. Then I do some assumption busting, revise the estimates, and then make my choice. Anything less is lack of due diligence and is partisan politics. Americans deserve better.
