You are not likely to see a radical revision of the tax code. There are far too many CPA's and tax lawyers that would be unemployed as a result. Won't happen!

Radical revision of the tax code keeps CPAs and tax lawyers busy. An ELIMINATION of the tax code in favor of a NST would be devastating on the CPA industry. Tax attorneys are fine as long as there is an estate/gift tax code, as they tend to do little compliance work and mostly estate and transaction planning.

As a CPA (although not planning to ever practice again), I would love to see a NST. I don't think it will ever happen, but it would be about the best possible development in domestic policy I can envision.
