<<PaineWebber analyst Charles Olsziewski said he expects the
company to earn $0.20 per share on a fully taxed basis in the
third quarter, up from $0.07 in the year-ago quarter.>>

As usual, Charles O.'s earnings projection is ridiculously low. He continues, probably with purpose, to set up earnings blow-outs.

My own opinion continues to be as follows:

On a full taxed basis, Vivus will earn $0.28 this quarter with NO U.K.approval and $0.32 with approval. But according to David Y., the Vivus CFO, Vivus will not be fully taxed this year. Last quarter they were taxed at 17% and this quarter the rate will be a similar 17 - 20%. The reported earnings taking into consideration this lower rate will probably be closer to $0.40 than $0.20.

I find it surprising that PW's report would be given credit for Vivus's recent good performance, but who's complaining? The timing of the release was far more useful to the cause than it's substance.
So let's keep the big ball rolling! All you traders---sit on your hands, disconnect your lines of communication to your brokers, take a vacation or a long nap! This is the largest position I've had in any stock and I smell fresh $$$--and lots of them!
