Imagine the consequences should radical Islamists take over after a fair election. An "Islamist" wahabbi oriented state? possible. A "Taliban?" No. I don't think the average SA is anymore enamored with the witch doctors who run his society than we would be. The average SA wants the same things the average Iraqi wants. Whoever takes over has to sell oil to live. They have no industrial base. Better a hostile democracy that a friendly totalitarian dictatorship.
