You're kidding. No, I didn't know that. What do you mean by being on base vs deployed? Deployed means in the field, either in training or at war. They feed you then. On base means you are home, in the barracks or your home if you are allowed to live off base. You pay for meals then. Unbelievable! No wonder Rummie said you come with the army you came with. They spend the defense budget on $1000 toilet seats and shortchange the guys fighting the war. ted
