The prosecution in the OJ case did some funny mistakes, some of
which anyone slightly skilled in chemistry maybe has
unwillingly (or willingly) done as students.

The explosive-underwear thing is a classic one, not just for
chemists, but also for those who know how gunpowder was originally produced.
That is, regular pee and explosives (plus fertilizers) can
be tested positively for by the same testing procedure.

However, the OJ-case was neither about explosives nor traces
of gunpowder, nor underwear, but it was appr the same time
that FBI chemist used the FBI system to analyze his underwear
and they came back as "full of traces of explosives".

The OJ-prosecution team mostly focused on preservatives
used to preserve blood and what eating a couple of tomatos
might result in.

They must have been either desperate or unwillingly unskilled.

PS Non Compos Mentis is sometimes pretty good, at least they
use a lot of raw energy, with a regular danish sense of humor

.
