First, we have to agree on what is meant by market control.
In a free market for items such as cars, toasters, health clubs, cereals, etc. the government may impose safety standards, and maybe (as with foods) some disclosure requirements, but doesn't regulate quality, content, etc. If you want to sell a squid-eggplant ice cream, and make it under sanitary conditions of ingredients recognized as safe, you are perfectly free to make it, and whether it sells or not is up to the market.
Can we agree that that's what is meant by market control? Or do you mean something other than that, and if so what? |
