It is good that she wants to play solos. She's not too nervous! My daughter was much smaller--seven, I think--and she was getting good at Irish dance. But when she had to start performing in front of big audiences she just froze, and said she felt like throwing up. So she stopped wanting to participate. Not being a pushy mom I let her drop it, but it made me sad because she really liked the actual dancing part--the routines she learned at dance class. But in Irish dance you have to be part of the troupe or the teachers don't like it, because they are performing units. It's really good exercise, too, very aerobic.
