By the end of the twentieth century it seemed to me that the muse had gone out of music and all that was left was the 'ic.

Something's been bothering me about pop music today; like it isn't music. There's not much worse than being in my daughter's car, when she has control of the sound system. I think Joni nailed a pretty good description of the problem.
I don't care about the language aspect; I'd like to hear something that is actually music. Maybe even performed by people who are really musicians; who can play and sing at the same time.

Damn, I sound like my mother: "All that music sounds the same." Maybe there was a value to all the music appreciation classes we had to sit thru in school. I hope not; that's what "they" told us, and I hate it when "they" are right.
