I don't see similar efforts are being made in the US or EU, or Japan. Germany is making some serious efforts to use solar and wind power, even providing subsidies and low interest loans in order to promote solar energy use in homes. even more bold is the green party inspired initiative to shut down all of the country's nuclear power plants by 2020.
