Henry, training or not, my experiences of some nurses and doctors is that their concepts of infection control are not a lot better than that of a sensible, informed lay person. So it's not surprising that a nurse falls victim.

Recall Dr Urbani, the human champion against sars, was defeated in battle and I assume he had heard of infection control. A lot of other medical people came to grief too, even though the infection was known to be rampant.
