In 1997, the Asian financial crisis knocked out 6 million bpd of demand; prices fell by nearly three-quarters as a result.


What a hoot, Free analysis what can one expect. Even the DOE EIA does a better job even though we probably pay too much. Odd that the world did not have a reduction in demand during the 1997 Asian crises. But someone is stating quite a massive decline, maybe if several Asian major cities disappeared then we would have the reduction stated.
