We passed another marker in this war on terror last week. The U.S. military death toll in Iraq hit 1,500.
When Saddam took control of Iraq in the early 1980's, its economy was on par with Spain's at that time. When he was removed a few years ago, Iraq's economy was ~1/100th of Spain's economy. The resultant deaths from disease, childbirth, and Saddam instigated wars number in the millions.

So why do you focus on 1,500 US troop deaths rather than the millions upon millions killed by Saddam?
Link, please.
Even Saddam didn't inflate his kill the way you do. Unlike with us........to him, the higher the number of people who had died under his watch the better. He hoped it would scare his enemies. Having said that, he never got up as high as "millions upon millions" like you.
For discussions sake, lets say Saddam is responsible for only 1 million dead Iraqis. When US troop casulties hit 1,600 Saddam will still be responsible for 1 million dead Iraqis. When US troop deaths hit 1,700 Saddam will still be responsible for 1 million dead Iraqis.
As you consider what is newsworthy keep the numbers in mind.
Iraq, Saddam Hussein (1979-2003): 300 000 [dead]
