The Thornley retirement is more of a surprise to me than the Jacobs announcement. Thornley is widely respected and I can't help but think that his "retirement" is a reaction by him to being skipped over as CEO. Paul Jacobs clearly has a lot to prove, and for a long time he seemed like a light weight.(Although I must add that he has appeared to improve recently.)
