Nobody is opposed to democracy anywhere. Bush has politicized this issue to gain ground on his botched war on terrorism. He started out with the goal of getting Osama in Afghanistan. Ended up in Iraq, we still do not why. And now claims credit for the people's movement and the people's yearning for democracy. If you look to history, this yearning has always been there. It is the people who usher in democracy.

The press is reporting today that in Lebanon there was a larger demonstration of people asking the Syrians to stay in Lebanon. What do you make of that?

The best tribute to the people's yearning for democracy was when the mighty Soviet army did not have the guts to fire a shot at Yeltsin when he stood atop that tank along with scores of Russians. For Bush to take credit is an insult to the people of those countries and as always he is attempting to steal the glory from them.
