I think a national health system could go a long way toward eliminating fraud and malpractice, because records of most doctors and hospitals (I think a more expensive private system will always exist) will be on the the governments computer systems and AI software could be used to weed out bad providers. Further a lot of paper work could be eliminated at well as redundant testing. Add to that the elimination of profit margins of insurers and the ability to truly negotiate with big pharma and we could cut our medical bills by about a third.
