Coastal property in SA fetches prices as high as anywhere in the world. For example, a crappy bachelor apartment (one room) in the CBD of Cape Town fetches over R1m -- that's nearly $200K US. And that's with all the crime, AIDS, unemployment, you-name-it. These days South Africans can't afford to live in their own country.
