Dr. J's "retirement" I suspect will be a very active one as far as his ongoing involvement with Q is concerned. Q is his baby in a any number of ways, and he is going to make sure that things don't run off course.

All things must come to an end, however.

I hope Paul J. has the leadership and inspirational skills IMJ developed. I don't know, but I must say that his performance at conference calls seems a bit dry as compared to his father's. I don't think I've yet heard PJ use the word "exciting" while IMJ's sentences overflow with it.

A leader like IMJ is enthusiastic and optimistic, a storm the barricades kind of personality which I don't see in PJ. Perhaps Q has matured from those early days in which that kind of enthusiasm was absolutely necessary to survive and thrive. Perhaps Dr. J's style has served its purpose and is no longer absolutely necessary, I don't know.

There is little doubt in my mind that a lot of Q's success is due not only to IMJ's CDMA vision but to his ability to inspire others to share that vision and to exert themselves in spite of a huge number of serious obstacles. Since he'll still be around, I suppose we won't lose that kind of emotional force he arrayed in behalf of Q.

He surely will be missed. A real trailblazing genius to which we all owe a lot not only financially but also as an inspiration to be and do more than we think we can.
