The thing to note is that if you look at the front page of Al Ahram (english edition at any rate), most of the articles are about the budding possibilities of Egyptian politics. As you would suppose. One side effect of actual interesting stuff happening in local Arab politics, is that the Palestinians can go play with themselves as far as getting big media exposure goes. It was one thing to root for the Pals when the local news was all "His Excellency the President is moving from Palace A to Palace B", but if the headlines are "mass demonstrations from the Kifaya movement in support of their candidate in the next election", fuggedaboudit!
