You could probably tell from the webcast that the meeting was fairly sparsely attended compared to a few years ago. I wasn't there last year. As usual, the audience was respectful and appreciative.

With respect to the succession, the impression around the meeting seemed similar to what I have read here: it has to happen sometime, better planned than not. Irwin is a hard act to follow. Most seemed to be prepared to wait and see how Paul does and are glad that Irwin will be watching.

It can be very damaging to a company if there's a rift between the incoming and outgoing CEOs. That seems very unlikely to happen. I'm glad the job has gone to someone with a technical background, rather than financial or legal one.
