A pretty interesting format for the ML analyst conference....each company has 4 sessions consisting almost entirely of Q&A. Flarion and Motorola went today, but I only had a chance to listen to Motorola. Qualcomm, Sprint, Ericsson and Cingular go tomorrow.

Some random points from Motorola...

- If they wanted to ship a non-FSL enabled 3G handset at the beginning of '07, they would need to be working with the company now. Also, the agreement with FSL does not prevent them from engaging with an ODM and getting a non-FSL enabled 3G handset in '05/'06. However, they are doing neither of these things right now.

- There is excess CDMA inventory in North America.

- The Freescale pickup of Prairiecomm gives them another CDMA alternative to look at. IMO, it didnt seem like he was hinting at anything...just pointing out the options.

- Motorola is working to get into the KDDI lineup.

- The first iTunes handset (e399) will be availble in the 2nd quarter and the ROKR will be available by Christmas. They will eventually have some handsets with hard drives but this will be a very small percentage of the market.
