Chuck if you are the Chuck on the Stockhouse board, you are right on the money when you say MPV stock is manipulated. The question is by who?I think a good guess would be Debeers or agents for them.I have followed the trading patterns of this stock form the days leading up to the release of the news that DBRs was taking the project to FS.The brokerage house in the next few days UBS was on the buy side for millions of shares in the $1.80 range all the way to the $2.35 range.Every time the shares crossed the C$2.35 range the same UBS stoped buying and started to sell. The selling put a cap on the price around C$2.35.The odd day the stock would climb past that level, they would slam it again. With the policy of silence by MPV mangement UBS could set the price at the level they wanted because MPVs party line is "we have no update or news to report".This is clearly a "get out of jail free card for DBRs or it puppets".And now with the new John Kaisers latest report on MPV,see the same pattern by UBS.Every time we get to C2.50 they sell large amounts and stop selling at $2.15.Why would UBS buy stock at $2.35 and then sell at less? This could beg the question what MPV shareholder stands to gain by lowering the price every time it seems to advance? Why does Kaisers glowing reports and target never get met,the likes of SGF and KRT?Why does DBRs only own no more than 6% of MPV rather than the the 10% Newmont invested in SGF and gold company GBU? If they controled more than 10% of MPV they would have to file with the SEC their trading pattern. This maybe way off the mark thinking DBRS,but I can't think of anybody wanting to see a takeover targets stock at depressed levels other than the buyer.I do not trust DBRs as I watched the hostile take over of WSP unfold. Its a shame that the JV with Debeers did not include a clause they are required to maintain a 10% position. While I think DBRs will build a mine at KL,I will never invest in a JV where the operator has less than a 10% intrest. Transparent? private company DBRs? Draw your own conclusions. James
