I went to the door of the people who lived there, friends of mine, and told them I was tracking the deer in the snow in case it was badly injured. Tracked her over 2 miles in the snow and gave up. She showed up two days later at the feeder limping slightly and got over it.

Years later they had a doe that had been hit and lost a front leg at their feeder. She raised fawns for 4 years, seems losing a leg didn't slow her much.
