Remember all those horrible birthday parties? The ones that ended in vomit, or tears? Well we finally had a perfect one :-)

Yesterday was just an absolutely beautiful day here- blue sky, the gentlest breeze, must have been in the high 70's. I had booked the party at our mini golf place (which also has laser tag, go carts, bumper boats and video games). On Tuesdays you get a wrist band and can do everything for one price. Even the video games are set at free play (including the dance machines, have you see those? They have feet pads that light up, and instructions go by on the large video screen- it's kind of like dance aerobics combined with a video game).

I swear I have NEVER seen kids move so fast. Zoom to one activity, zoom to another, until they finally got tired out and settled down to video games. There were no tears; there was no whining; everyone came happy and left happy. Victory is mine. Since I will never be able to duplicate this I told the kids this is the last birthday party anyone ever gets- we want to end on a high note...
