<It's the legacy of our large Irish population that came over hating the Brits, and our natural sympathy for the underdog, which is what the IRA is perceived to be. A "rebels against the evil empire," outlook.>

Ah Lindy, can you not see the similarity with the burgeoning USA Evil Empire and Osama trying to roll it back. Americans out of Arabia. Israel out of Arabia. Hooray for underdog Saddam.

Don't you think it would be better to hold an election in Northern Ireland and see what the majority wants. Oh, they did that already. They want to stay part of Britain. So, are Yanks in favour of democracy or not?

I guess not.

Has it occurred to the mindless Irish Americans that things have moved on over a century since the potato famine and having moved to the USA? There used to be slavery in the USA, but I don't go around advocating blowing up the White House because slaves used to pick cotton in the south, stolen from Mexico. It's the 21st century.

Every cloud has a silver lining and even 911 had a good aspect. Irish Americans who gave money to the IRA terrorists are sure to have been in the collapse. I hope there were lots of them. Each terrorist supporter caught is one innocent who escaped the horror.

Ironically, the IRA made common cause with Moslem terrorists [shared technology etc]. I think that's called Karma.
