I think the lenders realize that it's pretty much all downhill as far as the finances of the American borrower go, and since they've been so accomodating in loaning anyone who wanted it money the last few years, they want to lock in as much profit as they can buy from Congress - Bush is already bought.
Never mind that Congress and the President are supposed to be looking out for OUR interests, to prevent peonage and indentured servitude, or that the real instances of bankruptcy abuse are few. Most bankruptcies are the result of catastrophic medical misfortune. The Bushies want to turn these sick and/or dying unfortunates into continuing payers of "the vig", at least as long as their heart still beats.
Clinton had the balls to veto this stinking pile of a bill. Bush will not. To Bush, the poor are poor because they're stupid and lazy. They deserve to be slaves to creditors
