Not so fast there Snowshoe. The article confirmed what I was saying. Note that it was foolish adults who caused the poisoning. 3 year old children would NOT have eaten the cassava plant because of the bitter taste: < "Some said they took only two bites because it tasted bitter and the effects were felt 5-10 minutes later," said Dr. Harold Gallego of Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in the nearby town of Talibon, where 47 patients were taken.>

I still have never heard of children being poisoned by plants [which means them going out, grabbing some plants and being poisoned - of course adults can do stupid things and trick the children into being poisoned].

I'm also specifically talking about very young children. Infants. 8 year olds do things such as we did as children = challenging each other to eat chile seeds to see who could take it on. Younger children are in self-protection mode.

But I dare say there have been some natural plant poisonings of 3 year olds. But I bet Google can't find many.
