Why the rush to pass this now? I have an idea. Maybe the lenders and buyers of mortgage debt see the housing bubble popping down the road, and they want to make it harder for debtors to simply walk away? And of course a certain percentage of people are forced into bk because of unpaid major surgery/hospital debt they can never pay. Now they should be in a rush to fix that.
