Maurice, My comment had nothing to do about the American Revolution. The Celtic tribes of Ireland were invaded by the British for no good reason but greed for the land. That is also what the white Europeans, mainly British, did to the American Indians. The British were the most imperialistic people on Earth, and didn't care how miserably they treated those that they conquered. Ask the Asian Indians, and hear what they have to say. They rose up against the British, and won their freedom. The Australians have broken away from the yoke of John Bull, as has New Zealand, and Canada. The only reason the British still hassle the Irish, is because there is not enough distance between the two islands.
I do not condone what the IRA has done, and is still doing, but if the British would take their tea and crumpets back where they belong, the IRA would have no one left they wanted to fight.
In my travels, and business dealings, I have met many of the stodgy British, and have yet to find one that I can find anything to like about them. Those I have met were all pompous, stuffed shirts, that make their feelings of superiority quite evident, as they speak through their grey, and crooked, teeth, emitting foul breath.
Just in case you have forgotten, the USA, has whipped the British ass twice, and saved the same ass twice, and yet the British have yet to realize that they are no better than anyone else on this planet. The sun has been setting on the British Isles for many decades now, so get used to it. |
