So you are denying that Democrats who controlled the House (which buy must originate all spending laws) increased spending at a greater rate than the increase in revenue from tax cuts. It does not take a genius to see that the problem in the budget was spending.

Most states cut spending in response to decreased revenues after the Internet bubble was burst. It is my humble opinion that the problem is always spending, and that increasing taxes is never the best answer for economic problems.

The only reason that validates increased taxes is for achieving social good. IMO the government does not belong meddling in people behaviors, so social good is not a valid reason for raising taxes.

Unethical politicians like pork spending. Pork spending is always wasteful. The market is more efficient at allocating resources than the government with limited exceptions. This is why The Constitution permitted federal spending on Common Defense, Common Currency, and Unified Foreign Policy. The rest is better left for states or local governments.

The more local the control the more efficiently it will be managed.
