I also do not understand the concept of an average house owner lives at one place for 7 years. Well I sort of do, but I think why pay the huge interest upfront for 7 years and then move to another house to go through that cycle all over again ?

PS: I could be wrong about the assumption of 7 years as I heard it from others and did not find it from a reliable source.
