Why it took this long is beyond me. 3+ years since 9/11 and finally a large group of Muslims is going on the record with a fatwa no less. Again, good to see it, but why didn't it happen in late 2001 or early 2002?

I take it as a hopeful sign that the power of Wahabbi intimidation is lessening. Also SA, the mother ship, has decided that it doesn't like terrorism anymore. Of course by terrorism they mean 'when it occurs in SA' but it still gives Muslim anti-terrorists more running room.

I don't think AQ is doing itself any favors with its Iraq campaign (witness OBL's recent advice to Zarqawi to begin attacking America). Even Islamists must be asking themselves, what kind of jihad consists of going around blowing up mosques?
