Re: GLKCE and the alleged naked shorts

Let's looks at the facts...

From the Schedule 13D filing from Mr. Simpson:

On February 3, 2005, the Reporting Person acquired 1,158,209 shares, constituting 100 percent of the issued and outstanding common stock of the Issuer, in the open market. xml.10kwizard.com

A few immediate red flags here. A penny stock with on 1.1M shares issued? All able to be acquired in the open market?

According to the GLBB (former trading symbol) thread here on SI (as of 7/23/04):

Restricted shares : 30,501,042
Approx float : around 200 million

Subject 55080

So when fincialwire.net wrote:

The day after Simpson purportedly stuck every last corporate certificate for Global Links in his sock drawer, the company traded 37,044,500 shares. The next day it traded 22,471,600 share. Thursday it traded 199,616.

... did anyone ever bother to verify the numbers? Apparently not.
