Is Greenspan on to something here? Is the problem with our government that it isn't regulated by market forces? It really IS, isn't it? They live on money borrowed from foreigners - if the foreigners quit buying the American brand bonds and tbills, isn't that the market speaking? Veiwing our government in that way, we have to judge the President as we would a CEO. Is Bush defending and promoting the American Brand of bonds and tbills, or hurting their value? As a stockholder, I'd say a revolt was in order.
