Re: TradeStation

Mike:

I'm trying out TradeStation right now and finding it both confusing and cumbersome. I'm not sure about your stock symbol entry issue. My version came with thousand's of stocks already loaded; I just had to indicate which of them I wanted for active quote download and could have done a universal selection to have all symbols download.

Options are another question entirely. I also trying out OptionStation, the related option analysis program. Setting up that program to get option information is intensely time consuming since I have to indicate each option strike that I want information on. This isn't so bad, but the software doesn't seem to have a way to remove a particular strike from the "symbol universe" once I don't want it anymore (whether or not the strike is expired). My symbol universe is now up to about 65,000 and rising. Since I do end of day downloads, this is getting very time consuming.

May I ask what software you use now? I think I'll look into some other programs, especially in light of the TradeStation/OptionStation cost of almost $3,000. Appreciate your thoughts.

Good trading.
