I do think AAPL and MSFT will work more closely together. I even read some speculation (sorry I can't find the link right now) that "Rhapsody-for-Intel" might wind-up some sort of joint effort (Windows 2000?). We'll see. I'm not holding my breath.

Still, MSFTs decision to continue to develop for the Mac will certainly help Apple. That $150M investment may be insignificant, but keeping new applications coming wasn't.

I don't know whether Gates' and Jobs' friendship will take the corporate relationship any farther. The companies they run are competitors after all. I'm just pleased that they seem to have stopped bickering in the courts and started focusing on business.
