My mom breeds and shows basenjis. She would be the first to agree they are pain in the butt dogs (for example they have to be caged when their owners aren't around, because they will hurt themselves), but she finds them interesting. She would also tell you there ARE bad dogs- usually the result of careless breeding. People sometimes forget about breeding for temper, and breed for conformation alone- that can result in truly bad tempered animals.
