Darleen, I don't think your statement about Canada's trade figures is right. As far as I know, Canada has a surplus trade with the US and the rest of the world. The stronger Canadian dollar of course did do some damage, but the figure is not in red as far as I know. As a matter of fact, just now looking at the NAFTA figures, Canada is in a healthy surplus of almost 5 billion dollars/month with the US.
