Jg,

Speaking from a point of almost having done RK twice in my life (but getting scared at close to the last minute). I have been told by my opthalmologists that ideally, it is best to wait until your prescriptions have not changed for 5 years. This usually will not occur till after your 18th birthday...so the best cast scenario is to wait till one reaches the age of 23 and having had no prescription changes for the previous 5 years. You can always jump the gun and have the operation at age 18, as 97% of the time, your prescription WON'T change for the next 5 years...but I would caution against "jumping the gun" on any operation that is this large.
