Schulte Homes builds pre-fab homes for retirement and empty-nester markets.

The flip side of spending/investing is that the boomers entered their peak earnings years of 49 to 59 in 1995. Spending for household formation peaks in mid-20's. The demographic for mid-20's peaked in 1990. Back to peak earnings years for boomers, that accounts for large inflows for 401K plans. Spending on second homes or retirement homes is also an investment, especially since they are among the first wave of boomers to be attracted to these resort areas. The interest is deductible, and the property may also be depreciated on taxes depending on its usage.
